Lecture by Ambassador of Cuba to Japan

On May 15, 2025, H.E. Mrs. Gisela GARC?A, Ambassador of Cuba to Japan, visited Chiba University and gave a lecture on the history, music, and relations between Cuba and Japan.
Japan Association for Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (JAPOLAC) and Chiba University worked together to coordinate the lectures by diplomats at embassies of Latin American and Caribbean countries as part of the course, “Introduction to Latin American and Caribbean Countries with Lectures from Diplomats.”
By receiving lectures directly from the current ambassadors to Japan, students are given the opportunity to learn about life and policies in Latin American countries, as well as the role of diplomats, their duties, and their realities.
This year, we have invited ambassadors from three Latin American countries to give lectures, with the Republic of Cuba being the second country. During the Q&A session, students asked questions about the current situation in socialist countries.
