The International Support Desk (ISD) provides international students who are new to Chiba University with guidance on life in Japan. We will explain the support for international students at Chiba University, scholarships, residency management, laws and rules to follow in Japan, preparation for disasters such as earthquakes, and other important matters to start your life as a foreign student in Japan.

Guidance for SPRING 2026 enrollment students 【New Information - COMING SOON】

For JPAC Students

Date & Time：JPAC students will be contacted directly by a JPAC representative with details.

(JPAC students are undergraduate students with academic interests in Japanese culture and society from partner institutes where Chiba University has a student exchange agreement with.)

For all International students (excluding JPAC students)

Guidance for MEXT (mandatory attendance) and other international students (optional attendance) excluding JPAC

The Guidance session mainly features video viewing, along with Q&A session and a talk by senior students. The video is also available on the ISD website. If you are interested in joining the Q&A, listening to experiences from senior students, or connecting with other international students, please register. If watching the video alone is enough for you, participation is not required. Watch video→here

SIM Card Sales Event at Chiba University

SIM Card Sales Event by GTN will be held at Nishi-Chiba Campus (Advance Booking Recommended)
Date & Time：From 12:00 noon to 3:00p.m, Wednesday, September 25, 2026
Venue：Center for International Education (CIE) 1 fl., Nishi-Chiba Campus
Bring A. Residense Card (with Japanese address registered)
B. If residence card has not been registered yet, bring public certificate that can verify your address in your home country
C. Passport
Place to receive SIM card: Choose when booking - Chiba University Sales Event or Pick up at airport
Advance booking Deadline: March 20th, 2026

Please join us for a welcome party hosted by Japanese students.
